FAQ
Q: Is there plenty of parking nearby? A: Yes. This is the first question everyone asks so we wanted it to be the first one we answer here. There are 4 nearby parking lots and one being added soon and there is also plenty of free street parking nearby. If you are having your receptiion at the Grand Ledge Opera House you can also park across the bridge and walk across so your vehicle will be right outside the reception hall at the end of the night.
Q: Does our rental time for the chapel include time for a rehearsal? A: Yes. For each couple who rents the chapel for 2 or more hours they receive a free extra hour during the week before the wedding for a rehearsal. We will have a chapel representative there to play your music or help you pick your music if you haven't yet. If you are bringing in a musician we will still have a representative to help you with questions and to help guide you through what works best.
Q: Will you play the music for us during the ceremony? A: Yes. If you decide to use our sound system (a laptop and integrated speaker system) we will either download your music from a CD that you bring in, or you can choose some of the classic wedding songs we already have on our itunes library. However if you need someone to play the organ or another instrument that is up to you to hire the person, or group.
Q: How do I reserve my wedding date with you and who performs the ceremony? A: Call us to make an appointment to come in. We require a deposit of 50% of the total due (Cash, check, or credit cards including American Express, Visa, MC, Discover). The remainder is due 30 days before the ceremony. We also have a simple contract that spells everything out and will include your contact information etc. After 72 hours the deposit is non-refundable, however if you change your date we will be glad to accomodate you as long as the new date is available. We do not perform the ceremonies ourselves, but we do have an extensive list of officiates for you to interview to find one that fits your philosophy etc.
Q: Can we decorate the chapel ourselves or bring in a florist? A: Yes you may. We have some decorations that you are welcome to use, however some brides families will do more decorating or hire a local florist or decorator to come in the day of the wedding. They may come in the same time you do which gives them about an hour to decorate before your ceremony.
Q: What is the typical rental time needed? A: If it is a small wedding, 20 or fewer guests, you may rent the chapel for 1 hour. From 20-75 you may rent the chapel for 2-3 hours and for 75-200 a minimum of 3 hours up to 5 hours if needed.
